Buzzard’s Roost Launches New Kindred Collaboration BourbonPlus Two Single Barrel Whiskeys at Kentucky Bourbon Festival

Sept. 11, 2024 – Louisville, Kentucky – Buzzard’s Roost is going big for Kentucky Bourbon Festival (KBF) this year! Guests at KBF in Bardstown will be able to taste and buy two single-barrel double-oaked Distillers’ Row whiskeys specially selected by the Kentucky Bourbon Festival team and a very special bourbon created by Buzzard’s Roost Lead Distiller Ethan Spalding and his dad, long term cooperage industry exec Chad Spalding.

For the Distillers’ Row Series, the KBF Team selected a 5-year-old Buzzard’s Roost Toasted Barrel Bourbon with a mash bill of 60% corn, 36% rye and 4% malted barley at 114.2 proof ($95). The Distillers’ Row Series Toasted Barrel Rye is 95% rye and 5% malted barley ($85) and aged 4 years.

Buzzard’s Roost also will debut its new Kindred Collaboration small-batch bourbon ($75). This is a very special limited release crafted by lead distiller, Ethan Spalding and his father, Chad Spalding. Ethan grew up in a whiskey family: his dad, Chad, has decades of experience in the cooperage industry and his granddad Steve Nally is an esteemed Bourbon Hall of Fame Master Distiller.

Ethan and his dad put their magic touch on a Kindred Collaboration: a 5-year-old double-oaked bourbon with a mash bill of 75% corn, 21% rye and 4% malted barley that underwent secondary aging in a Buzzard’s Roost proprietary barrel chosen by Ethan and Chad for the flavor profile that they found the most appealing.

On Friday, Sept. 13, Ethan and Chad Spalding will sign bottles at KBF, and bottles of Kindred Collaboration and both Distillers Row Series whiskeys will go on sale at Buzzard’s Roost Tasting Room and Distillery in downtown Louisville.

“We had an amazing experience at our first KBF last year and are excited to share some truly amazing whiskeys with everyone this year,” said Buzzard’s Roost CEO Judy Hollis Jones. “KBF is the best event in the world for Kentucky whiskey lovers, and we can’t wait to see everyone!”
