Buzzard’s Roost Sipping Whiskey Adds Double Gold, Platinum and Silver to its Roster of Awards


Louisville, KY – May 25, 2023 – Buzzard’s Roost Sipping Whiskeys is thrilled to add

four new awards – and a new 91-point review – to its list of accolades. Results of the

2023 San Francisco World Spirits Competition and Fred Minnick’s 2023 Ascot Awards

include:

  • Double Gold medal for Buzzard’s Roost Char #1 Rye from 2023 San Francisco World Spirits Competition

  • Platinum for Buzzard’s Roost Smoked Barrel Rye and Buzzard's Roost Char #1 Bourbon in the 2023 Ascot Awards

  • Silver medal for Buzzard’s Roost Smoked Barrel Rye in the 2023 San Francisco World Spirits Competition

  • Silver medal for Buzzard’s Roost Cigar Rye in the 2023 San Francisco World Spirits Competition

Fred Minnick’s Ascot Awards are the best, most experienced and influential whiskey

experts in the world. High marks from them speak loudly.”


In addition, the Summer 2023 edition of Whisky Advocate includes a 91-point review of

Buzzard’s Roost Smoked Barrel Rye. Citing “it as a big, bold whiskey with good

balance,” the review describes the whiskey as “intense from the first sip with tons of

dark-roasted coffee that plays with sweet notes of honey, a touch of herbs, citrus and

wood, along with bracing licorice and earthy spices.”


“Whisky Advocate is one of the world’s most authoritative sources for whiskey

recommendations,” says Buzzard’s Roost co-founder and master blender Jason

Brauner. “A 91-point review means a lot to us.”
