Buzzard’s Roost Named Best Rye in
2024 International Whisky Competition and
Best Bourbon in Barleycorn Awards
Buzzard’s Roost Also Earns Gold and Double Gold Medals from
Three Other Industry Competitions
July 11, 2024 – Louisville, Kentucky – Each year, the International Whisky Competition awards a single Gold, Silver and Bronze medal to three spirits in each of its categories. For its first year entering, Buzzard’s Roost Char #1 Rye Whiskey brought home the Gold for Best American Rye Whiskey! Judges gave it 93.7 points. In addition, Buzzard’s Roost Toasted American Oak Bourbon was named Best Bourbon in the 2024 Barleycorn Awards
Both the IWC and the Barleycorn Awards are highly esteemed competitions with panels of judges from the highest echelons of the whiskey world. This year, IWC judges awarded scores of 90 points or higher to 102 whiskeys from around the world, including 35 American whiskeys.

On top of its titles as Best American Rye Whiskey and Best Bourbon, Buzzard’s Roost also placed second in the International Whisky Competition for Best American Micro-distillery, and Buzzard’s Roost’s new Bottled in Bond Bourbon also placed second in its category.
Buzzard’s Roost also received Double Gold in the 2024 Barleycorn Awards for its American Whiskey and Toasted American Oak Bourbon and Gold at the 2024 San Francisco World Spirits Competition for its American Whiskey. Buzzard’s Roost Char #1 Bourbon and Barrel Strength Bourbon each earned Gold in the 2024 Barleycorn Awards.
